So What the Heck is Squarespace?
Squarespace is a website builder that allows you to create a website without knowing or inserting any codes.
Have you ever thought about building your own website? I know, if you’re a “seasoned” (aka older) lady or gentleman, building a website probably never crossed your mind. Heck, I’m 34 his year and when I was 30 years old, I still thought building a website is only reserved for those smarty pants who geek out on computers all day long!
Well, time’s changed, and here’s how.
Squarespace allows you to build a really beautiful and professional looking website quickly and easily. Much easier than you would think! No coding knowledge, just pick a template design, and start dragging in text, pictures, slideshows, videos, and boom – you’re ready to publish!
Check out this quick intro video to Squarespace and you’ll see exactly how powerful it is:
Although the video makes it look like it’s SO easy to build a website, it’s really not that far from the truth.
Listen, no more coding required. Everybody can do it. So if you’ve been curious about creating a website of your own, now’s the time to jump onboard and give them a try! They have a 14-day free trial program, so what’s the harm?
Why Do I Need Squarespace?
You won’t become the next Zuckerberg with Squarespace, but it will give you a chance to build something really cool, that all of your friends and family can see anywhere around the world where there is internet connection.
Want to write a blog about your travels and vacations? Want to share some of your hobbies and show / teach others what you are doing? Want to share your designs and creations? Or even start selling some products? Squarespace can do that for you, and they can do that with Style.
You see, Squarespace does have competitors. But to be honest, after playing with so many different website builders, Squarespace still offers the best design for you. What About Website Domain Name, Hosting and Other Techie Stuff?
If you decide to use Squarespace, they give you a free domain name. What’s a domain name? It’s just the website address that someone would type in in order to reach your site. Typically, a domain name from GoDaddy will cost you about $12 a year.
What about hosting? What IS hosting?
Hosting is basically a space where your website sits. So Squarespace has all these servers where your website is stored in them. Traditionally if you build your website, you have to pay a host to house your website for you for around $4 – $6 a month. If you decide to go with Squarespace, in addition to getting a domain name worth around $12 a year, Squarespace will also host your website for you, so you don’t have to pay that extra fee on a monthly basis.
So Squarespace is really making life easy for you if you want to build a website yourself!
