Every new year is an opportunity to start fresh or infuse new ideas into your brand or business—and a perfect time to update or launch your website design. For 2025, experts are predicting a shift toward bold, personality-filled digital aesthetics.

For a closer look at what’s coming, we tapped creative platform, It’s Nice That, and its community of professional designers, to put these latest design trends to work—learn more about that over at the Squarespace Circle blog. Explore the templates below for inspiration to apply to your own website design and get ahead of the curve.

1. Organic Matter

This trend identified by illustrator and artist, Tom Bingham, is all about bringing the outdoors online. Tom collaborated with Squarespace to create a template that taps an organic, earthy color palette and natural shapes and textures to connect nature and digital design. The design itself is well-suited to a community group or nonprofit organization, with pre-built pages to share your mission and collect donations for your cause.

2. Just My Type

Typography takes the focus in this trend highlighted by graphic and type designer, Jazlyn Fung Hei Man. Instead of treating fonts and typefaces as simple, functional parts of a website, this trend encourages you to use type design to reflect your personality. Use this template to explore new font styles and how they can add character to your site, or as a starting point for an online course website.

3. Visual Smiles

The Visual Smiles trend is all about using web design to bring a spirit of playfulness and joy to your website visitors. To apply this design style, bring in new and unexpected design elements to delight and charm, like bright and warm colors, clever visual features, and fun type design. This template design, created in collaboration with illustrator and graphic designer, Martyna Makes, is the perfect inspiration for a smile-inducing online shop.

4. Vivid Glow

Vivid Glow lives on the opposite end of the spectrum from the popular minimal, neutral-toned design aesthetic. To take part in the design trend, find the perfect balance of bold colors, loud patterns, and visual textures to create a look that leaps off of the screen and makes a lasting impression. Or try the Vivid Glow template, an event website created with graphic designer, Martyna Wędzicka-Obuchowicz, to find a combination that captures the energy of your brand.

5. Sketchbook

Bring the Sketchbook trend to your website design by imagining your site as your own sketchbook surface: a place for patterns and textures from real life, bright colors, and intentionally imperfect images and layouts. This design trend, identified by Neasden Control Centre founder and artist, Stephen Smith, is a way to bring a personal, human touch to a digital space.

Explore the website template created in collaboration with Stephen to see how this trend can come to life, or use it to launch a newsletter or blog website.
